Honoring the pride of the Northland!  We serve to highlight our communities with honest reporting as progress is dependent on facts.  The Northland

is rich with outdoor activities and beautiful landscapes found in few places around the world.  We respect the need to preserve our environment while

also allowing for the sustainable incomes and livelihoods of our residents.  Both are needed and possible. . .

The Enbridge pipeline system that runs through Floodwood, MN, is the largest oil pipeline in the U.S. The system carries oil from Northern Canada down into the United States. The Enbridge pipeline is divided into two sections, the Enbridge system (the Canadian mainline) and the Lakehead system (the U.S. mainline). The entire system exceeds 3,100 miles.

The U.S. mainline system crosses the American border in North Dakota and stretches to Wisconsin. The pipeline goes east from Wisconsin to Michigan and south to Illinois then southwest to Oklahoma. The United States portion of the line is about 1,900 miles (3000 kilometers) long.
