The Perplexed Evolutionist

The Perplexed Evolutionist
by Marvin Pirila

Evolutionists have to really stretch to support their theories about the origination of life.  Rather than a belief in God, they choose to place their faith in scientists to concoct a generally believable theory of how life evolved.  Any individual that simply observes the world around them, beckons to the conscience within, and recognizes the miracle of life and its diversity will know there is a Creator.

The law of biogenesis states that only life can produce life.  The old age question of what came first, the egg or the chicken, remains a dilemma for evolutionists.  An egg comes from a chicken, and yet the chicken comes from the egg.  Still complicating the matter more, the chicken has to come from a fertilized egg that has the mixture of two different genetic strains from both its parents.

Symbiosis occurs when one living thing needs another different living thing to survive.  Bees and flowers are a great example of symbiotic life.  Bees need nectar from certain types of flowers to feed, while these flowers need bees to pollinate them.  Bees and plants need each other to exist and survive.  How did the plants come to exist without the bees in the first place or vice versa?

Other close relationships, sometimes call co-evolution by evolutionists, that exist are:

•    Hummingbirds and ornithophilous (bird-pollinated) flowers
•    African moths are dependent on the flowers for nectar and the Angraecoid orchids (flowers) are dependent on the moths to spread pollen so they can reproduce
•    The old world swallowtail caterpillar is dependent upon the fringed rue plant for food
•    The acacia ant protects the bullhorn acacia (tree) from preying insects and from other plants, competing for sunlight, and the tree provides nourishment and shelter for the ant and its larvae
•    The yucca plant is pollinated exclusively by Tegeticula maculata, a species of yucca moth that in turn relies on the yucca for survival

Scientists speculate that they evolved into these relationships, but have nothing more than theories.  The facts before us say they are symbiotic and dependent.

Trilobites are the oldest known organisms and they were complex.  Nothing was shown to come before them, so how can it be explained outside of creation?

Darwin himself noted in the Origin of Species, the abrupt emergence of arthropods in the fossil record during the Cambrian presents a problem for evolutionary biology.  There are no obvious simpler or intermediate forms—either living or in the fossil record.  Trilobites were complex at their very beginning, some having eyes.  The trilobite eye has been considered by many researchers a structure far too complex to evolve over time by random variations in the genes of trilobite populations.

Creationism is a theory by definition, but one that seems to have credence because of the complexity of trilobites, symbiotic and mutualistic dependencies, and the fact that life, by rule of nature, must come from life.  This last point is all that a believer in God should require.  The very first instance of life on Earth, by law of nature, must have originated from life -- the living God.  Even if we believe in evolution, it exists only after the first life or living organism appears.  Creation and evolution may exist simultaneously.  God surely knew what He created and what it would ultimately become, even by evolution, in His master plan.  Science has solidified the foundation of Christianity, not weakened it, and we should look forward to its ongoing search of the truth.
